Did you know the Koala Bear can run as fast as a rabbit?

Simbie Yau Koala Bear

I am happy to introduce you to this little cuddly Koala Bear from down under. He is a new a new design, including new features such as his little fingers and big ears which adds to his adorable character.

Simbie Yau Koala Bear

I was asked to make a Koala Bear for a colleague as he is fond of Australian animals and he challenged me to come up with something. I have to admit I have learnt a lot about Koala's during the process of making him. Did you know that female Koala's have pouches for their young to grow for 5 months?

It was quite hard to part with him as I have grown attached as I was making him.

Best of British Rabbit

Simbie Yau GB Rabbit

A friend of mine from Australia asked me to make a Great British Rabbit so he can have something that is truly British to send home. I was delighted to do this and here he is. He is quite handsome wearing a top hat with "Best of British" slogan, with a little red and royal blue waistcoat, a black bow tie and holding a mini Union Jack flag.

He was fun to make and my friend is very pleased and delighted with the results.

I made him using an existing pattern I designed a couple of years ago with a few new improvements particularly with the legs which allows him to stand and sit comfortably

Christmas Advent Calendar

Simbie Yau Christmas Advent Calendar

I find that it has always been a little tricky to look for a unique Christmas Advent Calendar where it allows you the flexibility to choose the treat for each day that you deserve. My Traditional Advent Calendar is a little closer to the advent calendar to the one I think I am looking for. The concept of using a mini christmas stocking for each day adds a cute factor to them to be enjoyed by any member of the family. This set is made in the traditional Christmas colours and Christmas cotton fabric and felt.

Fernando the Meerkat

I am so excited to present to you my new Meerkat called Fernando. He is a new design that I've created over the Bank Holiday weekend and I am so glad he has taken shape from a small sketch in my book. The pattern has not been written yet but I made him as I went along to ensure that he is the perfect shape. He is currently at work with me keeping me company. He will be up on my Etsy shop soon. Thank you for visiting and meeting Fernando.

Brown Bunny

This little Brown Bunny was custom made for Celeste based in Utah. It has been a while since I made a bunny using natural colours. He will be on his travels soon. I have decided to make him with the double eye patch to capture the gaze in his eyes.

Pink Penguin

This little pink penguin has just hatched and now looking for a new home

I had so much fun making this cute pink penguin last night and happy to put her up on Etsy this morning. She make me laugh every time I look at her.

She stands at 12 cm (5 inches) tall and her widest circumference is 36 cm (14 inches)

Leicester Vintage Fair at Market Corner

Looks like I brought a sheep worth of wool yesterday.

Yesterday Leicester Vintage Fair at Market Corner where I have found some amazing stalls ran by some very talented people. It was nice to see something like this in Leicester and I hope it was a successful day for them.

I met Laura Broughton and her friend Amelia and brought these lovely butterfly coasters made by her. They are designed and made using some great vintage fabrics. I was really tempted to get her bunting which were very cute. I will probably get them from her Etsy Shop in future when they are available. I fully admired the fact that she is a full time textiles teacher and still has time to create some amazing products.

I have made these little balls for another project. This will hopefully be finished soon.

I am just in the middle of constructing one of my cute bunnies. This one will have a beige eye patch and belly with a brown nose. Hopefully this should be finished by tomorrow. But I have kind of started some other designs already so we shall have to see. Hope this one will find a great home. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask me.

Just Married Penguins

This little penguin groom has his very own top hat and tiny bow tie. Together they make a great penguin couple.

Here comes the bride! This little penguin was made for a work collegue. I have used the same colour scheme to match the colour of the wedding she was going to. I have made sure that she matches her little penguin groom too.
